About Us

The UAE Ship Owners Association (UAESOA) has been established to promote the interests of Ship Owners based in and operating from the UAE, whilst also providing a common platform for interaction within the rest of the Industry.

Like other Ship Owners Associations world-wide, the UAESOA will endeavor to be a focal point for exchange of ideas between the Industry & the Authorities and to provide its professional opinion to the Industry on Industry related issues. If required and requested by the National Authorities, the Association shall provide competent marine advisors to support, assist and enhance UAE representation at various International Marine Forums and offer guidance to all on compliance with UAE laws, both marine and others and assist the authorities in promoting regulations for the benefit of all Members and the industry.

The Association will promote the UAE flag Internationally by proposing suitable amendments to the Authorities in the process of streamlining the procedures and associated legislation for the registration of ships under the U.A.E. Flag. Such proposals shall reflect the views and opinions of the majority of the community. The Association will also actively promote Internationally the interests of the Ship Owners, including those in the appropriate free zones.

The Association will assist & promote the growth of Marine knowledge through education and training for the benefit of the Community within UAE by organizing conferences, lectures, workshops etc., or by endorsing an appropriate conference or seminar The Association also intends to carry out relevant and meaningful research for the benefit of the Community. The Association also hopes to raise professional standards within the Industry in the United Arab Emirates by establishing a ‘Code of conduct and ethical practices’, which will not only benefit the Members, but will foster cooperation amongst them and also coordinate a common approach to industry concerns.

In addition, the Association would create a source of reference for all matters connected with this Industry & offer guidance to all on compliance with International, UAE & Maritime laws, and assist the Authorities in promoting regulations for the benefit of the Members & the Industry.
